Asking your horse to halt. Using what we at Eequine like to call the stages of annoyingnuss.
1. Stop moving
2. Engage your core
3. Engage your butt aka bootey
4. Engage your thighs.

 

Work down this scale as much as required so your horse knows it can work back up the scaled to release pressure.

Feeling your foot falls is really fun, simple and beneficial.

  1. Know if the horse is square and feel which hoof they left behind
  2. Improve lateral work
  3. Improve strike offs by using the optimal time to ask
  4. Feel canter lead
  5. Feel trot diagonals

There is lots of ways to keep that leg still and are generally very simple to fix if your up for change.
1. Every ounce of weight is in your foot when you stand
2. NO knee gripping. It breaks the rule above ^^
3. Use your swing ie stirrup to your advantage
4. No gripping

1. They have to move to stay still
2. Try using our Resistance bands (available in the store) to help you be aware of when they are moving
3. Pick a point over your tack and STAY THERE

keep them moving, relaxing your elbow and shoulder to keep those hands still

  1. Use spikey balls before and after your ride to help muscles stay relaxed
  2. Use the balls under your thighs while riding of those things you know you grip for.
  3. Go out hacking using your spikey balls and our new products ( coming soon) to relax and enjoy the scenery.
